The position of CDL-A Driver at Performance Foodservice plays a vital role in the food supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products. The CDL-A Driver is responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes involving local deliveries, over-the-road journeys, shuttle runs, overnight assignments, and drive-and-drop routes. This role requires compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations while ensuring that all deliveries are made within schedule and products arrive in excellent condition. The driver interacts directly with customers, representing the face of the company and fostering lasting professional relationships.

Key responsibilities for the CDL-A Driver include conducting pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, reporting vehicle and safety issues promptly, securing freight and completing thorough documentation, loading and unloading products carefully, and maintaining all operational and safety standards as outlined by DOT and company policies.
