Job Description

US Foods is one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, renowned for its commitment to quality products and exemplary customer service. Established with a culture that values its associates and promotes from within, US Foods has a rich history of delivering food and related services to a wide range of customers, including restaurants, healthcare facilities, and hospitality venues. The company focuses intensely on continuous improvement and training programs, allowing its employees to grow their careers while contributing to the company's overall success. Its reputation as a leading food distributor stems from a strong emphasis on reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction, making it a preferred partner throughout the foodservice industry.

The role of a Delivery Driver at US Foods is an essential position that requires both professionalism and expertise. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $29.96, with shifts primarily scheduled from Monday to Friday, starting as early as 3 AM and continuing until the delivery route is complete. Some Saturdays may also be required based on operational needs. Delivery Drivers at US Foods are responsible for safely driving trucks to customers while meeting delivery schedules with accuracy and efficiency. They must carefully unload products using equipment like two-wheelers and pallet jacks or by hand and place them in designated customer storage areas.

In addition to product delivery, these drivers are tasked with verifying the accuracy of every delivery with customers, obtaining signatures, and handling collections or payments when necessary. Providing professional and courteous customer service is a key component of the job, as drivers are the face of US Foods to many clients. Drivers must also conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their equipment to ensure safety on the road. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift and carry between 20 and 80-plus pounds repeatedly throughout each shift, and the capability to work in various weather conditions with frequent stops.

This position requires the ability to operate vehicles with manual transmissions at some locations, and candidates must have a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements, along with DOT qualifications. A minimum experience threshold demands either six months of commercial driving experience in any industry or three months specifically in food or beverage delivery. Fluency in English is necessary to communicate with customers and understand road signs and official documentation. US Foods emphasizes a work environment built on integrity, reliability, and collaborative spirit, supporting their associates with comprehensive benefits and a Total Rewards program designed to recognize dedication and hard work. The company also complies with Department of Transportation regulations, including mandatory registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse for all drivers to maintain drug and alcohol program compliance. This role is ideal for dependable individuals eager to build a stable career in the transportation and foodservice sectors.
