Job Description

Linde is a leading industrial gases and engineering company, renowned for its innovation and commitment to safety and sustainability. Specializing in the production and supply of industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide, Linde serves a diverse range of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, chemical processing, energy, and food and beverage. Operating globally, Linde focuses on delivering high-quality products while adhering to rigorous safety and environmental standards. The company has established a strong reputation for reliability, technological advancement, and fostering a supportive work environment for its employees.

The Class A Bulk Tanker Driver role at Linde is a highly specialized and critical position within its logistics operation. The driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of cryogenic and industrial gases such as liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid argon, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen to various customer sites. These deliveries often involve handling sensitive materials requiring strict adherence to safety protocols, adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and precise operational procedures. Drivers may be assigned deliveries to government facilities and other secure locations, where they must comply with heightened security measures and complete background checks.

This role demands a high level of responsibility and professionalism, as the driver not only operates tractor-trailer tankers but also manages loading and unloading tasks, conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintains accurate shipping documentation and logs. The ideal candidate is safety-oriented and detail-driven, with experience in transporting hazardous materials and comfort working with cryogenic tanks and related equipment. Continuous learning about Linde’s business operations is encouraged to contribute to the organization’s growth and success.

Linde offers competitive compensation for this role, with drivers averaging $130,000 annually. Employment is typically full-time with a 14/4 work schedule, providing a balance between work and personal time. Benefits include direct deposit on a weekly basis, paid 8-hour resets at company-provided hotels, daily meal per diems, 15 days of paid time off, paid holidays, a 401(k) matching program (up to 5%), and a company-paid pension plan. Linde also provides annual boot reimbursements, affordable health insurance plans effective from the first month after employment begins, and emphasizes maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Drivers often work consistently with stable schedules, promoting job security and work-life balance.

Team-oriented employment is a notable feature where trucks are assigned to specific driver teams, fostering a sense of ownership and teamwork. New or qualifying drivers receive training and paired driver placements if they do not have an existing partner. Deliveries are confined primarily to the western United States and Canada, which limits travel scope and helps drivers maintain a regular life rhythm. This role suits candidates who are physically fit, safety-conscious, and interested in driving high-value cargo with the satisfaction of contributing to key industries reliant on industrial gases.
