The Class A Bulk Tanker Driver role at Linde is a pivotal position within the company's logistics operations, focused on delivering industrial gases like liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid argon, CO2, and hydrogen to Linde customer sites using tractor trailer tankers. This role demands a high level of safety consciousness, attention to detail, and strict adherence to company protocols, particularly those related to the transportation of cryogenic gases. The driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of these products, ensuring compliance with all safety standards, laws, and regulations. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, properly coupling and uncoupling trailers, handling the transfer hoses securely, monitoring pressure and temperature during deliveries to ensure safe unloading, and maintaining accurate shipping documentation and logbooks in compliance with DOT regulations. The role also involves identifying maintenance needs promptly to guarantee vehicle safety and reliability.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of tractor-trailer driving or 2+ years of tanker trailer driving
  • Willingness to run in a team operation
  • Willing and able to cross into Canada
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CDL Class A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements

Job Duties

  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Trailer coupling and uncoupling (drop and hook) when needed
  • Connect and disconnect transfer hoses, ensuring secure couplings and proper handling of cryogenic tanks, hoses, and fittings
  • Monitor pressure levels and temperature readings during delivery to ensure safe unloading
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols during loading, unloading, and handling of cryogenic gases
  • Ensure hazardous material shipping orders/papers are in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation, logbooks, and records in compliance with DOT and company policies
  • Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
  • Maintain a professional partnership with internal and external customers to meet goals and objectives of the business and customer needs
  • Continuously building your knowledge on how Linde’s business operates and succeeds to help organization to continue growing
  • Other duties as assigned
