Job Description
Barr-Nunn Transportation is a well-established dry van truckload carrier operating since 1982. With a fleet of about 600 tractors and approximately 2,150 trailers, the company specializes in providing outstanding on-time pickup and delivery services to major e-commerce customers as well as other businesses that require reliable and timely freight transportation. The company is recognized for its exceptional safety record and award-winning on-time service, which allows it to effectively meet the demands of top-tier shippers. Barr-Nunn's commitment to safety, service, and operational efficiency has earned it a reputation as a stable and profitable company in the trucking industry.
Barr-Nunn Transportation is currently hiring CDL-A solo drivers for both over-the-road (OTR) and regional routes. This opportunity offers competitive pay and benefits, including some of the top earnings in the industry. Drivers can expect an average yearly income ranging from $85,000 to $100,000, with the top 50% of drivers earning $97,500 or more annually. The pay-per-mile (CPM) rate ranges from 64 to 73 cents, with additional bonuses and incentives available. New drivers may also benefit from a transition bonus and orientation pay, making this an attractive position for both experienced and new CDL-A solo truck drivers.
In terms of routes, Barr-Nunn provides various options tailored to drivers' preferences and geographic locations. Regional routes allow drivers to stay close to home and spend more time with their families, while OTR routes give drivers the chance to travel across the country and earn excellent pay. Regardless of the route, drivers are provided with 100% no-touch freight and 85% drop-and-hook freight, minimizing physical freight handling. The company prides itself on maintaining a fleet of well-equipped, late-model tractors featuring modern amenities such as TVs, microwaves, refrigerators, inverters, and advanced tracking and cargo sensors to ensure driver comfort and efficiency.
Barr-Nunn Transportation is a certified top-pay carrier known for its competitive pay structure, including higher rates for short loads under 400 miles and lucrative CSA safety bonuses paid every 90 days. Drivers can earn safety-based pay raises at regular mileage milestones and receive on-road safety bonuses, enhancing earning potential. Additional perks include a truck driver referral program worth $6,400 to $7,700 plus four days of paid time off, free $10,000 life insurance, BCBS health insurance, matching 401(k) plans, detention pay starting after one hour, and accelerated paid time off earned based on miles driven.
The company culture emphasizes respect, responsiveness, and support, with a friendly dispatch team available to assist drivers. Barr-Nunn prioritizes driver satisfaction by offering multiple home-time options to accommodate different lifestyles and family needs. The combination of competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, safety incentives, and modern equipment makes Barr-Nunn Transportation an excellent choice for CDL-A solo drivers looking for stability and rewarding career opportunities in the trucking industry. If you are looking for a trusted employer with a solid history and great opportunities for career advancement, Barr-Nunn Transportation invites you to apply and join their team today.
