Established as a global giant in food distribution, Sysco offers a comprehensive portfolio ranging from fresh ingredients to kitchen equipment, empowering restaurants, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions to meet their culinary needs efficiently. Renowned for its reliable logistics network and commitment to excellence, Sysco ensures timely delivery and exceptional customer service, creating strong partnerships with its clients. The company prides itself not only on delivering quality but also on fostering a positive, safety-oriented workplace culture for its employees.
The current night shift opportunity available is for a CDL A Shuttle Delivery Truck Driver, a crucial role within Sysco's transportation and logistics division. This position entails the safe and efficient operation of a tractor-trailer to deliver doubles and potentially triples trailers between Sysco’s main facilities and shuttle yards. The base pay rate for this role is $27.95 per hour, reflecting the company’s competitive compensation structure designed to attract skilled professionals. The driver may also be required, on an as-needed basis, to unload and deliver various products directly to customer locations on assigned route schedules, emphasizing the need for flexibility and customer service orientation.
To qualify for this role, applicants must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record, and critically, must hold a Doubles/Triples endorsement to legally operate these types of trailers. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. The ability to read, speak, and comprehend English well enough to communicate with the general public, understand highway traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete necessary reports is required. Physically, drivers should be capable of handling freight that may weigh an average of 40-60 pounds, with occasional lifting of items up to 100 pounds. This physical demand necessitates good health and stamina.
At Sysco, CDL A Shuttle Delivery Truck Drivers benefit from a work environment that offers them the chance to be home daily, an important consideration for work-life balance. The company supports its employees with comprehensive healthcare benefits, generous retirement plans, paid holidays and vacation time, and an array of supportive perks such as employee discount programs and discounts on Sysco stock (SYY). Employees also receive ongoing training and opportunities for career advancement, as well as uniforms provided on the job.
Beyond the tangible benefits, working at Sysco means joining a passionate team committed to foodservice excellence. Sysco encourages employees to think bigger, work harder, and persistently pursue success. For individuals passionate about driving and contributing to the foodservice supply chain, this role represents a solid career path with a respected industry leader.
