The role of a Shuttle Driver at Performance Foodservice is a vital position within the supply chain of America’s food distribution network. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting empty trailers to warehouse locations of the Operating Company and subsequently delivering full trailers loaded with varied products to domicile or shuttle yard locations. Operating either a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, or straight truck on both intrastate and interstate routes, this role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. The Shuttle Driver plays an essential part in ensuring that products arrive on schedule and in excellent condition while maintaining professional communication with customers, vendors, and team members.

This position offers competitive pay with an annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 on average, and work hours are Sunday night through Thursday night with dispatching between 3 and 5 pm. Candidates must possess at least 12 months of commercial driving experience, hold a valid CDL A license with a Doubles Endorsement, and be at least 21 years of age. Other critical qualifications include a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years, valid state licensing, the ability to pass a drug test, criminal background check, and road test, and compliance with DOT health card requirements. The role also demands physical capability for handling and maneuvering freight using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates, with product weights ranging from 10 to 90 pounds depending on location.
