The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting empty trailers to warehouse locations of the Operating Company and subsequently delivering full trailers loaded with varied products to domicile or shuttle yard locations. Operating either a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, or straight truck on both intrastate and interstate routes, this role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. Key responsibilities include performing mandatory safety checks on tractors, trucks, and trailers before and after trips, reporting any safety issues or repairs, following DOT regulations and company driving policies, ensuring freight is properly loaded and secured, completing necessary paperwork, and safely operating vehicles according to predetermined schedules. The role also involves handling product returns, damaged goods, unloading equipment, maintaining cleanliness in the working area, and contributing to overall team success by performing additional duties as assigned.

Candidates must possess at least 12 months of commercial driving experience, hold a valid CDL A license with a Doubles Endorsement, and be at least 21 years of age. Other critical qualifications include a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years, valid state licensing, the ability to pass a drug test, criminal background check, and road test, and compliance with DOT health card requirements. The role also demands physical capability for handling and maneuvering freight using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates, with product weights ranging from 10 to 90 pounds depending on location.

Performance Foodservice fosters a supportive and rewarding work environment that emphasizes safety, respect, and inclusivity, creating a culture where employees are valued and recognized for their contributions. The company’s benefits program spans health and wellness options from day one, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and many other perks that enable employees to grow and thrive professionally.
