The company values diversity and inclusion, encouraging employees to share ideas, take initiative, and make decisions that contribute to the collective success. At Airgas, employees are not just workers but essential contributors who play vital roles in ensuring products are manufactured sustainably and delivered efficiently. The company offers an engaging and supportive workplace where each individual’s unique perspective and talents are recognized and nurtured.
The role of a CDL A Shuttle Driver at Airgas in Salt Lake City, UT, offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this dynamic organization. This position primarily involves safely operating CDL A trucks to deliver dry ice and other related products within Salt Lake City and surrounding areas such as Cortez, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. The CDL A Shuttle Driver will start work early morning between 2 am and 5 am from Monday to Friday with occasional weekends, featuring 2-3 layovers per week with per diem provided. This schedule offers a balance of routine and variation, catering to different operational demands. The position requires familiarity with operating standard transmission vehicles and involves the use of equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks for loading and unloading cargo. Attention to detail is critical, including obtaining customer signatures, verifying piece counts against load manifests, and ensuring a seamless service cycle by collecting empty dry ice boxes for return.
Beyond transportation duties, CDL A Shuttle Drivers serve as the face of Airgas to customers, offering excellent service and communication by sharing valuable customer feedback with branch management. Drivers must also conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT and company maintenance standards, maintain a clean and professional vehicle environment, and uphold company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to regularly lift 75 pounds and move over 125 pounds with equipment assistance. Driving experience and safety records are crucial, underscoring Airgas’ commitment to maintaining a secure workplace for all. This position comes with a competitive hourly pay of $31 and a $1,000 referral bonus.
Employees in this role enjoy a comprehensive benefits package designed to support their health, well-being, and future security. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching funds, tuition assistance, paid childbirth benefits of up to 14 weeks, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and early access to benefits starting just 30 days from employment. Airgas takes pride in creating a workplace that respects and honors diversity and inclusivity, inviting qualified applicants from all backgrounds to join their team and contribute to shared success. This position is ideal for candidates seeking a stable, well-supported career with growth potential in a reputable industrial supply company that values its people and their differences.
