As a Shuttle Driver at Performance Food Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency by transporting empty trailers to operating company warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile or shuttle yard sites. This position requires driving tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The Shuttle Driver will be responsible for conducting pre- and post-trip safety inspections, securing freight properly, managing all route paperwork, and maintaining effective communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

Your role extends beyond driving to include performing hook and unhook procedures, parking and storing equipment appropriately, handling damaged goods and customer returns, unloading trailers, completing daily service logs, and maintaining cleanliness around the tractor and loading docks. The position demands adherence to strict safety standards, timely deliveries, and teamwork within the department to contribute to the company’s overall success. Working primarily Sunday through Thursday overnight shifts, this role may occasionally include yard work and demands physical stamina to handle freight typically weighing between 60 to 90 pounds.
