The Driver, Shuttle role at Core-Mark is a vital position responsible for supporting the food supply chain by transporting empty and full trailers efficiently and safely between warehouse locations and shuttle yard facilities. This role is essential to maintaining seamless operations, ensuring that goods arrive on time and in excellent condition. As the public face of the company, drivers build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers while upholding the highest safety and professionalism standards. This position offers competitive pay at $30.00 per hour, a favorable 4-day workweek schedule (Monday through Thursday), and the benefit of being home nightly. Drivers perform their duties in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and company policies, contributing to the overall operational success of Core-Mark.
The role involves driving tandem trailers, tractor trailers, or straight trucks on both interstate and intrastate routes. Drivers are tasked with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring safety checks and reporting any necessary repairs. They are responsible for securing freight properly, completing all required route documentation, and adhering strictly to safe driving guidelines and DOT regulations. Additionally, drivers handle hook and unhook procedures, park and store equipment properly, secure freight and equipment, and manage damaged goods or customer returns with attention to detail.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- valid CDL A
- must be 21 years of age
- meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights schedules may vary
- pass pre-employment drug test
- pass road test
- valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds depending on location

Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
- follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- immediately reports all safety hazards
- inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- ensures all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch
- drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule
- performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
- parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas
- ensures all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured
- collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer to bring back to driver check-in at base facility and complete necessary paperwork
- unloads all equipment, materials and removes trash from trailers as required
- completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required
- performs other related duties as assigned
