With a dedicated team comprising sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts, Performance Foodservice goes beyond delivering food. This company is dedicated to cultivating a culture of reward, recognition, and respect, providing a safe and inclusive working environment for its team members.

The CDL-A Driver at Performance Foodservice assumes an essential function in maintaining and supporting America's food distribution system. This role is designed for highly responsible individuals who facilitate the safe and timely delivery of food and food-related products to customers. Offering an average yearly income of $80,000 or more, the position includes opportunities for quarterly safety bonuses and a competitive benefits package. The work schedule typically involves a 5-day workweek between Monday and Saturday, without Sunday shifts, though flexibility in days off is required. Some routes may include team driving or overnight layovers. Drivers operate during early dispatch hours, ranging from midnight to 5 AM, usually working 10-hour shifts involving ramp work.

The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and drive-and-drop assignments. Beyond delivering products on schedule and in excellent condition, drivers serve as the face of Performance Foodservice when interacting with customers and vendors. They must perform routine safety inspections, comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and uphold company safety policies. Responsibilities extend to verifying freight counts, unloading deliveries, handling customer returns, maintaining accurate paperwork, and ensuring the security of the tractor, trailer, and cargo. This role requires physical stamina for handling goods of various weights, operating equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates, and managing general cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles and loading areas.

Performance Foodservice provides a robust array of benefits from day one, including health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off, among others. This position offers significant growth opportunities within a vital sector, supporting the food distribution infrastructure essential to millions of Americans every day.
