Performance Foodservice is expanding its reach with a new location opening in Yuma, AZ, in 2026, and is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of CDL-A Delivery Driver. This position offers an average yearly income of $80,000 or more, with additional opportunities for quarterly safety bonuses. The work schedule is to be determined, providing some flexibility based on operational needs.
The CDL-A Driver role is vital in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products, playing a key part in sustaining America’s food supply chain. Drivers in this role operate tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including intrastate and interstate local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop assignments. Beyond simply transporting goods, these drivers embody the company’s commitment to service and professionalism as they build lasting relationships with customers.
Candidates in this role will be responsible for performing thorough safety inspections, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, managing delivery paperwork efficiently, and ensuring freight is properly loaded, secured, and delivered in excellent condition. Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 12 months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years or older
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift

Job Duties
- Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
- Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Checks and completes in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight
- Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
- Collects money (cash or checks) where required
- Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
- Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and brings them to the driver check-in and completes necessary paperwork
- Unloads all equipment, materials and removes trash from trailers as required
- Completes daily record of hours of service and enters in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean as required
- At the end of the shift secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
