The CDL-A Driver role at Performance Foodservice plays a critical part in sustaining the food supply chain by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to customers across intrastate and interstate routes. Offering an average yearly income of $80,000+ with opportunities for quarterly safety bonuses, this position involves a typical 5-day workweek from Monday through Saturday, with no Sunday work and flexible days off. Shift schedules include dispatch periods between 12 AM to 5 AM and average 10-hour shifts primarily involving ramp work. Some routes may require team driving or overnight layovers for extended deliveries.

In this role, the CDL-A Driver will operate tractor trailers or straight trucks to deliver goods according to predetermined schedules while adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies. Responsibilities encompass a broad range of tasks including pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, secure loading and unloading of freight, accurate documentation and record-keeping, professional communication with customers and team members, and overall maintaining the highest standards of safety and service. Drivers are expected to engage in damage control checks, coordinate refunds and returns, and ensure that equipment and trailers are properly secured at all times. This position requires physical capability to handle freight weighing from 10 to 90 pounds using necessary equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates.
