Job Description

Trimac is a distinguished North American transportation company with an impressive 75-year history of safely and reliably delivering essential products that improve people's lives. Unlike a typical transportation firm, Trimac stands out as a powerhouse in the logistics industry with a focus on safety, innovation, and employee development. As a company, they utilize comprehensive safety training, state-of-the-art equipment, and cutting-edge technology solutions to ensure that every shipment is handled with the utmost care and professionalism. Their dedication to these principles has earned them a reputation for excellence in transporting diverse product types, including chemicals, dry bulk goods, and liquid bulk materials, along with specialized transportation services.

At Trimac, drivers are given the opportunity to work in a dynamic and evolving environment that values safety and growth. The company offers a range of pathways for professional advancement, skills enhancement, and additional certifications or licenses. This reflects their commitment to employee success, recognizing that the journey of their workforce is just as important as the destinations they serve. Trimac fosters a diverse, vibrant, and supportive culture that prioritizes the well-being of its employees and provides a fulfilling work environment marked by stability and opportunity.

The role in focus is a specialized driving position within Trimac’s regional operations, predominantly based out of Houston, Texas. Drivers in this position will operate on routes that typically cover Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana, with an out-and-back freight model that ensures all routes originate and return to Houston. These regional lanes provide a strong mix of dedicated routes with assigned trucks, allowing drivers to have consistency and familiarity with their work schedule and equipment. The driving schedule is designed to have drivers out on the road for up to three days at a time, without a fixed home-time structure, and operational activities take place seven days a week. Standard loading, driving, and delivery windows range from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with occasional off-hour requests.

This position involves the transportation of specialized chemical products such as acrylic acid, sulfuric acid, isocyanates, acrylates, caprolactam, and other general chemical products. Due to the nature of the cargo, the role demands rigorous adherence to safety protocols and the possession of specific endorsements such as tanker and hazmat endorsements. Equipment requirements include operating 2010 or newer sleeper cab tractors equipped with pumps, compressors, and in-transit heat. The company emphasizes a thorough safety screening process, ensuring that candidates have clean driving records, free from any history of violations related to drug or alcohol consumption, preventable fatal accidents, or unsafe driving incidents over defined periods.
