Job Description
TransForce is a leading staffing company specializing in providing professional drivers and transportation solutions across the United States. With a reputation for connecting skilled drivers with reputable businesses, TransForce has established itself as a trusted partner for both employers and employees in the transportation sector. Based in Savannah, Georgia, this opportunity focuses on offering local and over-the-road (OTR) driving positions that emphasize safety, efficiency, and competitive compensation. TransForce’s commitment to driver satisfaction is evident in their structured schedules, benefits packages, and ongoing support for their team members. This role is ideal for experienced Class A CDL drivers who want to join a dependable company that values their contribution and offers steady, meaningful work with consistent pay and benefits.
The position available is for a full-time Class A OTR (Over-the-Road) Driver based in Savannah, GA, with routes primarily extending to Clarksville, Tennessee. This is a temporary-to-hire assignment with a pay rate of $0.55 per mile, reflecting competitive compensation in the trucking industry. The role primarily involves the transportation of automotive parts using a 53-foot dry van trailer equipped with an automatic transmission, designed for no-touch freight handling to ensure driver convenience and safety. Drivers will operate on a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, though times may vary depending on the operating hours of the shipper.
In this role, drivers will experience a slip seat assignment, which means they will use and operate company equipment rather than driving a dedicated truck. Endorsements beyond the standard Class A CDL are not required, simplifying the hiring process. However, drivers must be willing and able to stay overnight on the road as part of standard operations, which is typical for OTR routes.
TransForce emphasizes a safe and responsible driving culture, requiring applicants to have no DOT-defined accidents within the last three years and no serious offenses or unsafe practices in the last seven years. While a TWIC card is not mandatory, it is considered an asset. Applicants should also have at least two years of verifiable Class A driving experience, particularly with no-touch freight, ensuring familiarity with the demands of long-haul trucking and freight handling.
Joining TransForce not only offers a stable income but also access to a suite of benefits designed to support driver health, financial security, and work-life balance. Medical, dental and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan are part of the compensation package, highlighting the company’s dedication to its drivers’ well-being and future planning.
TransForce drivers benefit from the company’s flexible assignment options, steady pay delivered through direct deposit, and the backing of a supportive team committed to ensuring their success. Applicants interested in this fulfilling career path in transportation can apply on an ongoing basis, making it easy to join the network and start driving professionally with a great company. This job represents an excellent opportunity for skilled Class A CDL drivers looking for stable employment, competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a reputable employer in the Savannah, Georgia area.
