Job Description

The hiring establishment is a logistics and transportation company that specializes in delivery and distribution services with a focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Operating within the transportation and logistics sector, this company provides crucial services including daily route deliveries, product loading and unloading, and managing cross-dock model picking. Their core operations revolve around streamlined delivery processes that ensure timely and accurate distribution of goods to various customer locations. The company employs driver professionals who play a vital role in maintaining the flow of inventory and meeting customer expectations by delivering products safely and efficiently. This is a customer-facing position that demands a high level of responsibility, professionalism, and adherence to safety regulations, as drivers not only handle merchandise but also interact directly with customers during deliveries.

This job is a full-time, operational role for a delivery driver responsible for managing daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks, and unloading products in designated customer areas. Drivers operate from a domiciled location near the customer marketplace rather than the main operating company facility. The primary duties include driving routes assigned by the Transportation Department Manager, picking up trucks from nightly deliveries at assigned docks, and returning empty trucks to the assigned lots post-routing. The position emphasizes efficiency and accuracy as drivers are expected to follow designated delivery orders while ensuring all products reach customers in perfect condition.

The role requires physical endurance as drivers frequently lift, push, or move products weighing up to 100 pounds and navigate various environmental conditions such as ramps, stairs, docks, and different weather elements. Candidates should be capable of conducting vehicle inspections, following Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, and maintaining safety standards. Drivers must also possess strong communication skills to verify deliveries, handle customer complaints, and report discrepancies effectively. Additionally, the position may involve assisting with loading trucks, palletizing products, and performing additional duties directed by supervisors or managers. This key role supports the company’s reputation by delivering exceptional customer service, problem-solving issues on route, and ensuring compliance with operational protocols. The ideal candidate is experienced in route driving, has a valid commercial driver’s license, is physically fit, and demonstrates professionalism in all interactions. This position also offers a stable career path within a reputable company, with opportunities to enhance driving and customer service skills in a dynamic transport environment.
