Job Description

Schneider is a premier transportation and logistics company that has established itself as a leader in the freight and trucking industry. With decades of experience, Schneider offers a variety of driving opportunities tailored to meet the needs of both experienced and new commercial drivers. Known for its commitment to safety, technological innovation, and employee satisfaction, Schneider operates on a foundation of respect, diversity, and inclusion. This inclusive culture fosters an environment where all employees have equal access to opportunities and resources, contributing fully to the organization’s success. The company not only provides reliable freight solutions but also invests heavily in its workforce with competitive pay structures, comprehensive benefits, and programs designed to support driver growth and success.

This job posting is for a full-time Company Driver position specializing in Over-the-Road (OTR) Van Truckload driving within the Eastern 37 states. The role offers predictable and consistent power lanes with a high volume of freight, ensuring maximum drive time with less downtime. Drivers will be dispatched in advance, allowing them to strategically plan their schedules. Approximately 95% of the freight handled is no-touch and mostly drop-and-hook, minimizing the need for manual handling and increasing efficiency. Weekly pay ranges from $1,040 to $1,275 with additional pay incentives including mileage pay plus hourly pay for duty time when not driving. Drivers are entitled to significant benefits like a $6,000 sign-on bonus for experienced drivers, which is paid over 12 months, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for inexperienced drivers. Paid orientation is included to help new hires acclimate to the role effectively.

The job also provides paid time off after six months and six days of holiday pay annually. A new productivity incentive rewards drivers up to an additional $0.04 per mile based on weekly miles driven, alongside weekly performance pay. The compensation package extends to an annual bonus of up to 2% of the driver’s gross pay each year. Emphasizing support for new drivers, Schneider offers company-paid CDL training programs and individualized coaching during the early stages of employment. Additional perks include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, unlimited referral bonuses, and tuition reimbursement of $200 per month (up to $7,000) for qualified drivers. The company recognizes and credits military experience and offers apprenticeships to facilitate smooth transitions for veterans.

Driving equipment is modern and designed specifically with driver comfort in mind, featuring leading technology to enhance the driving experience. Schneider promotes job satisfaction by enabling drivers to deliver goods that keep shelves stocked, providing a tangible sense of contribution and pride. The pay package is comprehensive and reflects all aspects of the driver’s responsibilities, rewarding longer hauls with increased miles and thus greater earning potential. Through an equitable and supportive workplace culture, Schneider ensures its drivers receive recognition, competitive compensation, and a wide range of resources to help them thrive both professionally and personally.
