The position of CDL A Local Truck Driver at EVO involves operating large vehicles on local routes primarily within the Shreveport, LA area. This is a part-time fill-in role where drivers cover various shifts, including vacations, illness, and uncovered routes, allowing for flexible scheduling from Monday through Sunday with up to 20 hours of work weekly. Drivers earn $33.33 per hour, which includes a base pay of $27.89 and an additional $5.44 per hour for the Health and Welfare Program (HWP) that funds company group coverage for eligible employees. Job Requirements
- Must have held a valid CDL A license for a minimum of 1 year with relevant experience
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must have a clean MVR/PSP
- Driver should be able to lift 50lbs over their head
- Driver should be able to climb in and out of a truck with three steps pulling their own weight using three points of contact
- Driver should be able to push and pull carts on wheels weighing over 100lbs
- Driver should be able to bend over while pulling a fifth-wheel lock-release where stress will be on the lower back
- Driver should be able to crank landing gear handles using arms, legs, and back
- Driver should be able to drive/sit in a truck for a minimum of 4 hours at a time without a break
Job Qualifications
- At least 1-year CDL A driving experience
- Valid CDL A license
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) and PSP
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and maneuvering equipment
- Strong attention to safety and adherence to protocols
- Basic communication skills
- Ability to drive and sit for extended periods without breaks
Job Duties
