The company is dedicated to advancing a sustainable future by providing high-quality solutions, innovative technologies, and comprehensive services that make customers more successful across various industries. These industries include chemicals and refining, food and beverage, electronics, healthcare, manufacturing, and primary metals. Linde's products are vital in numerous applications, such as supplying life-saving oxygen to hospitals, high-purity and specialty gases for electronics manufacturing, hydrogen for clean fuel initiatives, and much more. Additionally, Linde offers state-of-the-art gas processing solutions that help clients expand operations, improve efficiency, and reduce emissions, aligning with its mission to make the world more productive while protecting the planet.
The Class A Bulk Tanker Driver position based in Ecorse, Michigan, is a crucial role within Linde's logistics operation. This role involves delivering industrial gases, such as liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid argon, CO2, and hydrogen, to customer sites using tractor-trailer tankers. The driver must adhere to stringent safety standards and comply with all relevant laws and regulations to ensure safe transportation and handling of these cryogenic gases. Due to the nature of some deliveries, the driver may be required to access government facilities or other secure locations, entailing thorough background checks and strict compliance with enhanced security protocols.
The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and attention to detail, understanding the critical nature of cryogenic material transportation. Responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, coupling and uncoupling trailers, connecting and disconnecting transfer hoses carefully, monitoring pressure and temperature during deliveries, and maintaining accurate shipment records in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Moreover, the position requires proactive vehicle maintenance to ensure operational safety and reliability. This role also emphasizes building professional relationships with internal teams and external customers to successfully meet business objectives and customer needs.
Linde offers competitive compensation for this role, with an average local driver pay reaching up to $105,000 per year. Employment is full-time with weekly pay, and drivers typically return home daily. Additional benefits include a matching 401(k) plan up to 5%, a company-paid pension plan fully vested after three years, paid holidays, paid training, consecutive days off, and boot reimbursement. Benefits coverage begins the first of the month following the start date. This role thus provides not only a steady income but also comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities within a global leader in industrial gases and engineering.
