Job Description
The company is a dedicated transportation and logistics provider specializing in local intermodal container delivery services. Operating within a 200-mile radius, this organization is committed to delivering reliable, efficient, and safe freight solutions primarily in the intermodal, rail, and port sectors. The company prides itself on fostering a family-first atmosphere while prioritizing the well-being and professional growth of its drivers. Known for its supportive management team and driver-focused mentality, the company ensures a stable, long-term working environment with consistent schedules and competitive compensation.
This role is specifically designed for experienced CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A drivers who seek local intermodal work with predictable hours and daily home time. The CDL Driver will primarily handle container deliveries within the defined radius, performing no-touch freight that involves drop and hook operations, making it an excellent fit for drivers who prefer streamlined, routine assignments. The working schedule is Monday through Friday with a typical start time at 3 PM and approximately 10-hour shifts. The compensation package includes a combination of load pay and hourly wages, typically resulting in weekly earnings between $1,000 and $1,200.
This position requires a driver with a strong safety record, proven professionalism, and the ability to perform basic container and chassis inspections as part of daily pre-trip routines. The company values drivers with intermodal, rail, or port experience and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and stable employment history. Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is mandatory for this role, contributing to the driver’s eligibility to operate in secure port and rail environments. Hazmat endorsements are preferred but not required, while the ability to manage overweight loads with company-provided permits is expected.
The opportunity promises year-round, steady employment in a company that champions driver well-being, offering benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance for the driver and family, holiday pay, paid time off (PTO) after eligibility, IRA plan options, and a supportive work culture. This role suits dependable, safety-conscious CDL Drivers who desire a consistent workload, good earning potential, and the chance to be part of a company with a 'Driver First' mentality, where their contributions are valued and their career development supported.
