This job opening is for CDL A Truck Drivers for local routes based in Austin, TX. The role offers home daily privileges, providing drivers the opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance. The position features a competitive pay rate of $33.00 per hour, which includes a base pay of $27.89 plus a $5.11 Hourly Wage Premium (HWP) applied up to 40 hours weekly, funding company group coverage for eligible employees. EVO also ensures paid orientation and quarterly safety training to support drivers’ professional development and safety awareness. Full-time hours are available, with shifts running Tuesday through Sunday from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM, including consistent routes and the potential for up to 60 hours per week.
CDL A Truck Drivers at EVO are primarily responsible for managing US Mail routes locally, providing reliable and timely transportation services. Drivers must be adept at handling the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy loads and maneuvering trailers safely. EVO offers a robust referral bonus program where drivers can earn up to $1,000 per referral, encouraging a collaborative and supportive work community.
The ideal candidate for this position should have at least one year of CDL A driving experience, a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and be capable of passing a criminal background check. Drivers should possess the physical ability to perform various demanding tasks such as climbing into trucks, pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts, bending and lifting, and staying alert during extended periods of driving. Job Requirements
- must have held a valid CDL A license for a minimum of 1 year with relevant experience
- must be able to pass a criminal background check
- must have a clean MVR/PSP
- ability to lift 50lbs over the head with proper body mechanics
- ability to climb in and out of truck using three points of contact
- ability to board the catwalk behind the cab and stay stable
- ability to push and pull carts weighing over 100lbs
- ability to perform bending tasks and operate fifth-wheel lock-release
- ability to crank landing gear handles using arms, legs, and back
- ability to inspect trailer pin lock connection
- ability to sit/drive for at least 4 hours at a time without a break
Job Qualifications
- minimum of 1-year CDL A driving experience
- valid CDL A license held for at least 1 year
- clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP)
- ability to pass criminal background check
- physical capability to perform required duties
- strong communication and time management skills
Job Duties
- drive local US mail routes safely and efficiently
- maintain consistent schedule from Tuesday to Sunday, 5 PM to 5 AM
- perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, climbing in and out of trucks, and maneuvering heavy carts
- conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections including coupling trailers
- adhere to safety protocols during driving and handling cargo
- participate in paid orientation and quarterly safety training
- communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
