CDL-A Local Driver / Forklift Operator, Full-time

The role offered is a full-time position for a professional Tractor Trailer Driver responsible for the pickup and delivery of cargo to and from nearby destinations, generally within proximity to a consolidation or distribution center. This position includes the loading and unloading of trailers, applying the same techniques, technology, and procedures as dock workers, which emphasizes the importance of safety and efficiency in warehouse and transport operations. Drivers will be expected to exercise independent judgment to maximize time, resources, and physical effort effectively while adhering to all weight distribution laws to ensure compliance and safety.

Drivers in this role will perform a range of tasks, including operating forklifts, performing tractor and trailer inspections, setting up tractors, completing routine paperwork, and properly logging loading sheets. The job may require varied schedules depending on the specific service center location, potentially including days, nights, and weekends.
