The Class A Bulk Tanker Driver role at Linde is a vital part of their logistics operations, focused on the safe and efficient transportation of industrial gases such as liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid argon, carbon dioxide (CO2), and hydrogen to various customer sites. This position involves operating tractor trailer tankers with utmost attention to safety protocols and regulations pertaining to the handling and transportation of cryogenic and hazardous materials. Drivers will often be required to service government facilities and locations requiring stringent background screenings and adherence to enhanced security measures. The role demands a safety-first mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and strict compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.

Daily responsibilities for this position include conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, coupling and uncoupling trailers, and managing the connection and disconnection of transfer hoses ensuring secure handling of cryogenic tanks and fittings. Monitoring pressure and temperature readings during deliveries is essential to maintain safety during unloading procedures. Accurate documentation, including shipping orders, logs, and records, is critical to comply with regulatory standards and company policies. Drivers will also need to report necessary vehicle maintenance or repairs promptly to maintain operational efficiency and safety.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years verifiable tanker trailer experience
  • Minimum three years tractor trailer driving experience
  • Ability to pass extensive background checks
  • Comply with safety, environmental, and DOT regulations
  • Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Strong attention to detail and safety-oriented mindset
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Physical ability to handle equipment and transfer hoses
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Minimum two years verifiable tanker trailer experience and/or three years tractor trailer driving experience
  • Previous cryogenics experience a plus

Job Duties

  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Trailer coupling and uncoupling (drop and hook) when needed
  • Connect and disconnect transfer hoses, ensuring secure couplings and proper handling of cryogenic tanks, hoses, and fittings
  • Monitor pressure levels and temperature readings during delivery to ensure safe unloading
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols during loading, unloading, and handling of cryogenic gases
  • Ensure hazardous material shipping orders/papers are in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation, logbooks, and records in compliance with DOT and company policies
  • Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
  • Maintain a professional partnership with internal and external customers to meet goals and objectives of the business and customer needs
  • Continuously build knowledge on how Linde’s business operates and succeeds to help organization to continue growing
  • Other duties as assigned
