The role of a local CDL A Delivery Truck Driver at Sysco Central Texas is integral to the company’s operational success. Job Requirements

  • 21 plus years of age
  • Pass employment testing
  • Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License with insurable driving record
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse, understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
  • Ability to lift, push, or move freight weighing 40-60 pounds on average and up to 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Preferred 1 year customer delivery experience
  • Preferred 6 months hand cart or hand truck experience
  • Preferred 6 months food and beverage industry experience
  • Preferred 2 years consistent work history

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Ability to read and speak English fluently
  • Proven ability to handle and move heavy freight
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Preferably 1 year of customer delivery experience
  • Experience with hand cart or hand truck use
  • Familiarity with the food and beverage industry
  • Consistent work history over at least 2 years

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer to transport products to designated customer locations
  • Manually load and unload products weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Follow assigned route schedules to ensure timely deliveries
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through professional and courteous interaction
  • Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues
  • Maintain accurate delivery and vehicle operation records
