Job Description
Sysco Corporation is a leading global foodservice distribution company dedicated to providing high-quality products and services to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments, and other customers who prepare meals away from home. Established with a commitment to excellence, Sysco operates as a comprehensive foodservice provider offering a wide array of food products, kitchen supplies, and equipment. The company prides itself on its strong emphasis on safety, professionalism, and customer service, making it a recognized name in the food distribution industry.
Sysco is currently seeking dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to make up to $115,000 per year, including base salary, overtime, and incentives, highlighting both competitive pay and career advancement potential within the company. Delivery drivers at Sysco play a crucial role in ensuring that fresh and quality products such as meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and necessary supplies are delivered timely and safely to various customer locations.
The role of a CDL A Delivery Truck Driver at Sysco involves operating tractor-trailers efficiently and safely, following assigned route schedules through diverse terrains and traffic conditions. Drivers are expected not only to manage the physical demands of loading and unloading freight manually—often handling products weighing between 40 to 60 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds repeatedly—but also to build and maintain strong customer relationships. These drivers become familiar with each client’s operational needs, ensuring their deliveries meet customer expectations with accuracy and professionalism.
Beyond driving and delivery duties, Sysco emphasizes a strong safety culture, grooming its drivers with ongoing job skills and leadership development training. The position requires flexibility as overtime, weekend, and holiday shifts may be necessary to meet business needs. Sysco also fosters career growth with opportunities for promotion from within, reflecting the company’s dedication to employee development.
Additional benefits underscore Sysco’s commitment to its employees, including paid vacation and holidays, comprehensive healthcare and retirement benefits, employee discounts, referral and safety programs, as well as tuition reimbursement where applicable. Drivers typically have daily routes and arrive home nightly, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Plus, relocation assistance is available under certain restrictions for those moving to join the team.
Sysco is more than just a workplace; it is a career destination for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The company’s passion for food and its customers drives its success and industry leadership. Candidates must be prepared for the responsibilities of the role, including handling physical labor and consistently maintaining high safety and service standards. If you are a dedicated CDL Class A driver eager to be part of a company that values your contributions and offers rewarding career prospects, Sysco invites you to apply and help drive success.
