The company prides itself on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment where employees are valued and given opportunities to grow their careers. Employing thousands of professionals at multiple locations, Sysco combines advanced technology with a strong network of supply chain expertise to meet the dynamic needs of the foodservice industry efficiently and reliably.
Sysco is currently seeking dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join their team and contribute to the smooth operation of their food and supply distribution services. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of a tractor-trailer to deliver a variety of products such as meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and other supplies to customer locations along assigned routes. CDL A drivers at Sysco play a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers by demonstrating a positive and friendly attitude and tailoring their service to meet specific operational needs. This is a critical position within the company’s logistics network that demands a high level of professionalism, responsibility, and customer service skills.
The position requires drivers to manually unload deliveries and handle freight that may weigh between 40 to 60 pounds on average and up to 100 pounds. Drivers must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate. Beyond the physical demands, the job requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record that meets insurability criteria. Effective communication in English is necessary to engage with the public, understand traffic signs, and complete official reports and records accurately.
This role offers competitive pay and productivity incentives, comprehensive healthcare and retirement benefits, paid vacation and holidays, ongoing job skills, and leadership development training, as well as opportunities for career advancement, including promotions from within the company. Sysco provides relocation assistance under certain conditions and values employee engagement through safety programs, referral programs, stock discounts, and tuition reimbursement. New hires typically enjoy the benefit eligibility starting from the first day of the month following or coinciding with 31 days from their date of hire. Sysco believes in rewarding service recognition and fostering a culture of growth and success, making it more than just a workplace, but a career destination for driven professionals ready to make an impact in the foodservice industry.
