This immediate opening is for a dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Driver position with Sysco. The role involves safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer to deliver various products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. The delivery driver will engage with customers, building strong relationships through positive and friendly interactions, becoming familiar with each customer’s operations to meet their unique needs and expectations. The position demands a responsible, safety-conscious individual with a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and a clean driving record. Drivers must communicate effectively in English, follow traffic regulations, and handle physical freight tasks involving significant weight lifting, frequently between 40-60 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds. The role also requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.

Job Requirements

  • 21+ years of age
  • Pass employment testing
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read and speak English
  • Physical ability to handle freight up to 100 pounds
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Flexible and reliable work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with a driving record meeting company standards
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for communication and compliance
  • Preferred experience includes 1 year of customer delivery, 6 months of hand cart/hand truck usage, 6 months in Food and Beverage, and 2 years of consistent work history

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver products on assigned routes
  • Manually unload and deliver various food products and supplies
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Follow traffic laws and company safety rules
  • Read and understand highway traffic signs and communicate effectively in English
  • Lift, push, or move freight weighing between 40-100 pounds
