The driver operates a tractor-trailer truck and is responsible not only for transportation but also for manual unloading and delivering tasks. This hands-on role requires a positive and friendly attitude as drivers maintain and build lasting relationships with customers by understanding their unique business operations and fulfillment needs.
The employment type is full-time with a compensation rate starting at $31.42 per hour, which may be adjusted based on specific skills, experience, and other factors. Employees may also be eligible to participate in the Company’s Incentive Plan, boosting their earning potential. This position offers a stable career path within a leading corporation renowned for its commitment to employee development, including ongoing job-skills training, leadership growth opportunities, and a promotional culture that encourages from within advancement.
Working as a CDL A Delivery Truck Driver with Sysco is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expansive team that values safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Drivers enjoy consistent daily routes that typically allow them to be home every night, avoiding long-distance travel and extensive overnight trips. The role also demands physical capability to handle freight, sometimes lifting or moving items weighing up to 100 pounds repeatedly, requiring strength and endurance.
Sysco promotes an inclusive workplace with equal opportunity and affirmative action policies to ensure all qualified applicants are considered fairly regardless of race, color, creed, gender identity, veteran status, or other protected classes. This reflects the company’s broader commitment to diversity and community engagement.
Additionally, drivers benefit from comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and numerous perks such as employee discount programs, referral and safety incentives, and tuition reimbursement. The company also supports its employees with uniforms and service recognition awards. Sysco emphasizes a strong safety culture and encourages continuous professional development through training and support. Aspiring candidates who appreciate working with foodservice products, delivering exemplary service, and who hold a valid CDL A license with a clean driving record are encouraged to apply and thrive within Sysco’s welcoming and supportive team environment.
