Job Description

Sysco Corporation is a global leader in selling, marketing, and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, and other customers who prepare meals away from home. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, Sysco has earned its reputation as the largest foodservice distributor in North America. The company prides itself on its commitment to quality, reliability, and exceptional customer service, continuously advancing with innovative distribution practices and maintaining a vast product range that includes meats, produce, frozen foods, grocery items, and dry goods. Sysco's mission goes beyond mere distribution; it focuses on fostering strong, collaborative relationships with its clients and providing tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of the foodservice industry.

Sysco is currently seeking dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join their team. This role demands safe and efficient operation of tractor-trailers to deliver various products such as meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Delivery drivers play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries, upholding the company’s standards of customer service, and contributing to the overall success and reputation of Sysco. Drivers interact directly with customers and are expected to build lasting relationships through professionalism, positive attitude, and familiarity with each customer's unique operations to meet their needs effectively.

The position requires the ability to manually unload and deliver freight, often involving physically demanding tasks such as lifting, pushing, or moving products that weigh between 40 to 60 pounds on average, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate is essential, supporting the company’s mission to provide uninterrupted service. Drivers must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and meet company insurability standards. Excellent communication skills in English are necessary to understand highway traffic signs, speak with the general public, respond to inquiries, and make accurate entries on records and reports.

Sysco offers a competitive compensation package that includes excellent pay with productivity incentives. Most driver trainees benefit from daily routes that allow them to be home nightly, contributing to work-life balance. Additionally, paid vacation and holidays, relocation assistance subject to certain restrictions, ongoing job skills and leadership development training, and ample career advancement opportunities make this position highly attractive for both new and experienced drivers. Employers prioritize promoting from within, reflecting their commitment to employee growth and satisfaction.

Moreover, new hires become eligible for a comprehensive suite of healthcare benefits, generous retirement plans, employee discount programs, service recognition, safety programs, tuition reimbursement, and uniform provisions starting on the first day of the month following or coinciding with 31 days from the date of hire. The company also supports employees with referral programs and discounts on Sysco stock, creating a supportive and rewarding work environment. This role is suitable for individuals who are passionate about driving success and eager to contribute to an industry-leading company that values dedication, safety, and customer satisfaction. If you are ready to join a reputable foodservice distribution leader and drive a rewarding career, Sysco invites you to apply and be part of a company that truly values its people and their contributions.
