Sysco is seeking dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join their team immediately. In this role, drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of tractor-trailers on assigned route schedules. They manually unload and deliver a variety of products, including fresh meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies to customer locations. Drivers play a crucial role in building strong relationships with customers, leveraging their positive and friendly attitude to understand customer operations, meet their needs, and exceed their expectations. This position demands a responsible individual who can manage heavy freight, often lifting or moving products weighing from 40 to 100 pounds repeatedly.

Job Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License
  • Meet company insurability standards with a clean driving record
  • Pass employment testing
  • Have the ability to read and speak English sufficiently
  • Be physically capable to lift, push, or move products weighing 40 to 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Have flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with a driving record meeting company insurability standards
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Pass employment testing
  • Preferred 1 year of customer delivery experience
  • Preferred 6 months hand cart or hand truck experience
  • Preferred 6 months food and beverage industry experience
  • Preferred 2 years of consistent work history

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer on assigned routes
  • Manually unload and deliver various products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers using a friendly and professional attitude
  • Become familiar with customer operations to meet and exceed their delivery needs and expectations
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies while driving and handling freight
  • Lift, push, or move products weighing between 40 to 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
