Most driver trainees enjoy daily routes and return home each night, creating a good balance between work and personal life. Sysco offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid vacation and holidays, healthcare, retirement plans, employee discounts, tuition reimbursement, uniforms, relocation assistance in certain cases, and opportunities for career growth through ongoing training and promotion from within.
The ideal candidate is at least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record. They must be able to communicate effectively in English, read and respond to traffic signs, and complete necessary paperwork accurately. Physical capability to handle freight weighing between 40 and 100 pounds repeatedly is required. Preferred candidates have a minimum of one year of customer delivery experience, hand cart or hand truck experience, food and beverage experience, and a consistent work history of two years or more. Sysco values safety, professionalism, responsibility, and dedication in its drivers, recognizing the critical role they play in the company’s success.
Joining Sysco means becoming part of a company that not only provides jobs but also builds careers. Sysco’s passion for food, commitment to service excellence, and the drive to think bigger and work harder make it a rewarding place to work. The company supports employees through service recognition programs, safety initiatives, and referral incentives.
