Sysco is currently seeking dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join their team. This role is essential to the smooth delivery and handling of a wide variety of products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies directly to customer locations following an assigned route schedule. The CDL A Delivery Truck Driver plays a vital role in upholding the company’s commitment to excellent customer service by building strong relationships with customers, understanding their operations, and meeting their specific needs. Emphasizing safety, reliability, and efficiency, drivers are tasked with operating tractor-trailers in compliance with all relevant traffic and safety regulations. This position requires physical stamina as drivers must manually unload and deliver products, some of which may weigh from 40 to 60 pounds on average, with occasional items weighing up to 100 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • 21+ years of age
  • Pass employment testing
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with a driving record that meets company insurability standards
  • Ability to read and speak English to converse with the public and understand highway signs
  • Physical ability to lift, push, or move products weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and up to 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow safety protocols and communicate with customers
  • Successful completion of employment testing
  • Commercial driving experience preferred
  • Customer delivery experience preferred
  • Experience with hand carts or hand trucks preferred
  • Experience in food and beverage delivery preferred
  • Consistent work history for at least 2 years preferred

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver various food and supply products to assigned customer locations
  • Manually unload and handle products weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through friendly and professional engagement
  • Follow assigned route schedules efficiently while complying with company and traffic safety regulations
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
  • Adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements related to commercial driving and product delivery
