Sysco is currently seeking dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers. These professionals will be tasked with the safe and efficient operation of tractor-trailers to transport a wide range of products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies to various customer locations along an assigned route schedule. Drivers at Sysco play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining positive customer relationships by demonstrating a friendly and professional attitude. They need to understand each customer's operational goals to meet and exceed expectations effectively.

This role demands physical stamina as drivers will be required to manually unload and deliver products, some weighing between 40 to as much as 100 pounds repeatedly. Flexibility with overtime, including weekends and holidays, is essential to meet business needs. The position also requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), a clean driving record meeting company insurability standards, and the ability to communicate effectively in English to interact with customers, understand highway traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports accurately.

Job Requirements

  • 21 plus years of age
  • Pass employment testing
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand highway signs
  • Ability to lift, push, or move products weighing 40-60 pounds and up to 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate effectively and understand traffic signs
  • Experience operating tractor-trailers preferred
  • Customer delivery experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and handle freight weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Positive and friendly demeanor
  • Consistent work history preferred

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver products on assigned routes
  • Manually unload and deliver various products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers using a friendly and professional attitude
  • Understand customer operations to meet their delivery needs and expectations
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws while driving
  • Communicate effectively with customers and management regarding deliveries and any issues
  • Complete required delivery documentation and reports accurately
