Job Description

This job opportunity is with a leading company specializing in transportation and logistics services, particularly in the delivery and handling of goods in a cross-dock environment. The company operates a daily route system where drivers play a critical role in ensuring goods are delivered efficiently and in a timely manner to various customer locations. With a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency, this organization stands out as a reliable partner in the logistics industry. Established with a solid reputation for professionalism and customer care, the company values its employees' commitment to excellence and teamwork. Its operations typically require adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and internal policies aimed at maintaining high standards in service and safety.

The role offered is that of a Commercial Driver focused on executing specified daily routes that include frequent stops for delivery. This position involves more than just driving - drivers are required to load and unload packages efficiently using hand trucks, manage product placement in customer storage areas, and handle physical lifting of packages weighing up to 100 pounds. The driver will pick up loaded trucks from a nightly delivery and return the empty trailers to designated lots. Drivers may also be occasionally tasked with assisting in loading trucks, palletizing product, and performing additional duties as assigned by their supervisor or manager.

With a payrate of $23.50 per hour, this full-time position demands a high level of responsibility, including conducting pre- and post-trip inspections to comply with safety protocols, using company equipment properly, and demonstrating excellent customer service skills by handling complaints professionally and ensuring correct deliveries. The role requires flexibility, as overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be necessary based on business demands. This position is ideal for individuals with a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a clean driving record, and physical capability for demanding freight handling tasks. Additionally, drivers must be proficient in English to communicate effectively and complete necessary documentation accurately.

The ideal candidate will have at least 21 years of age, a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction, and the strength to manage physically intensive parcels. Preferred candidates will bring customer delivery experience, familiarity with hand trucks, and some background in the food and beverage industry. The company is invested in supporting its drivers through clear expectations, continuous management support, and a structured environment that promotes professional and personal growth. Overall, employment in this role offers a stable career opportunity for those looking to work in a dynamic transportation setting that values reliability, efficiency, and customer service.
