Sysco is a leading global foodservice distribution company that has established itself as a trusted partner to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments, and other foodservice operations. With a rich history spanning several decades, Sysco has grown its network to deliver a broad range of products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and other supplies essential to the foodservice industry. Known for its commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and innovation, Sysco provides an environment where employees play a critical role in maintaining the company’s reputation as an industry leader.
This job opening is for a dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Driver position. This role is perfect for an individual who enjoys driving and delivering goods while building strong customer relationships. The driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer to deliver various food and supply products to customer locations along an assigned route schedule. Beyond driving, the role involves manually unloading products, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries, and providing outstanding customer service. Drivers become familiar with their customers’ operations to meet specific needs and expectations, fostering long-term partnerships. The position demands strong attention to safety, professionalism, and a positive attitude as drivers are often the face of Sysco to its clients.
This role requires candidates to possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and meet the company’s insurability standards. Additionally, excellent communication skills in English, particularly the ability to read and comprehend highway signs and effectively converse with customers and the general public, are critical for success. Physical strength is also necessary as the job involves handling freight that can weigh between 40 to 60 pounds on average, and up to 100 pounds repeatedly. Flexibility is important since overtime, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required based on business needs.
Sysco offers competitive pay, including productivity incentives to reward drivers for their efficiency and dedication. The company supports work-life balance with the assurance that most driver trainees will have daily routes and be home nightly. Paid vacation and holidays, ongoing job skill development and leadership training, and clear career growth opportunities underscore the company’s commitment to employee advancement. Comprehensive healthcare, retirement benefits, employee discount programs, service recognition, referral bonuses, and tuition reimbursement further enhance the overall benefits package. Sysco’s culture focuses on growth, safety, and employee empowerment.
