Job Description

Sysco is a leading global foodservice distribution company known for its commitment to quality, customer service, and operational excellence. Established as a trusted provider of food and related products, Sysco has cemented its reputation as an industry leader by serving a diverse range of customers including restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments, and other foodservice operations. Sysco strives to deliver fresh, high-quality products consistently while supporting its customers' success through reliable supply chain solutions and exceptional service.

As a large-scale distributor specializing in a vast assortment of products such as meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies, Sysco has built an extensive network of delivery routes and operational efficiencies that support its mission to deliver on time and in full. The company emphasizes fostering strong relationships with its clients by understanding their unique operations and needs, ensuring tailored service that meets or exceeds expectations.

This particular role is for a dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Driver. The position requires safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer truck to transport and manually unload/deliver various food and related products directly to customer locations following a scheduled route. This is a critical role within Sysco's supply chain, as drivers directly contribute to customer satisfaction by being the face of the company during deliveries. Drivers are expected to maintain a positive and friendly attitude to build rapport with customers and develop familiarity with their specific processes and preferences.

Candidates must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and possess a driving record that meets company insurability standards. The position demands physical stamina as drivers frequently handle freight that may weigh between 40 and 60 pounds on average, with some items weighing up to 100 pounds repeated over the course of deliveries. Flexibility is necessary since overtime, weekends, and holiday hours may be required depending on business needs.

Sysco values safety, professionalism, and consistency in its drivers. The company prefers applicants with at least one year of customer delivery experience, six months of hand cart or hand truck use experience, and food and beverage industry knowledge, although these are not strict requirements. Consistent work history is also a plus, demonstrating reliability and dedication.

Sysco offers competitive pay including productivity incentives, comprehensive medical and prescription plans effective from the start date, paid vacation and holidays, along with relocation assistance for those who qualify. Ongoing job skills and leadership training programs are available to support career growth with opportunities to promote within the company. Additional benefits include retirement plans, employee discounts, service recognition, referral programs, safety training, tuition reimbursement, uniforms, and more.

Working at Sysco means more than just having a job; it means being part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering excellence and driving success in foodservice distribution. If you are a motivated CDL A Delivery Truck Driver ready to take your career forward with a company that values your contributions and invests in your development, Sysco welcomes your application.
