The available role is for a dependable Local CDL A Delivery Truck Driver, an essential position within Sysco's distribution network. This role is focused on safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer to deliver various products to customer locations following an assigned route schedule. The employment type for this role is full-time, offering a competitive compensation package that can yield up to $105,000 per year, including base pay, overtime, and incentives. Systematic and well-organized, the role demands physical fitness and the ability to manage heavy freight repeatedly, as well as flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Drivers must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License with a clean driving record, demonstrate proficiency in English for communication and compliance purposes, and be willing to undergo background checks and drug screening.

Job Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Possess a valid Class A CDL license
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently
  • Be capable of lifting, pushing, or moving freight weighing between 40 and 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Have a clean driving record

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with the public and follow safety signs
  • Minimum one year of customer delivery experience preferred
  • Experience using hand carts or hand trucks preferred
  • Food and beverage industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated consistent work history preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver various products safely and efficiently to customer locations
  • Manually unload and deliver freight including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing excellent service
  • Follow assigned route schedules to ensure timely deliveries
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Report any delivery issues or vehicle problems to management promptly
