Sysco is currently seeking reliable, experienced, and safety-conscious CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join their team. This is a local delivery position responsible for operating a tractor-trailer to deliver various products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies to customer locations on a scheduled route. The role requires manual unloading and delivering products, often involving physical labor such as lifting and moving items weighing between 40 to 100 pounds. Drivers will build strong customer relationships through their positive and friendly attitude, becoming familiar with customer operations to meet their unique needs and expectations.

Job Requirements

  • 21+ years of age
  • Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports
  • Physical capability to handle freight weighing 40-60 pounds on average and up to 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

Job Qualifications

  • 21+ years of age
  • Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English proficiently
  • Physical ability to lift, push or move products weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Preferred 1 year customer delivery experience
  • Preferred 6 months of hand cart/hand truck experience
  • Preferred 6 months food and beverage experience
  • Preferred 2 years consistent work history

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver products to customer locations on assigned route schedule
  • Manually unload and deliver various products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to meet their needs and expectations
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while driving and delivering
  • Perform physical tasks requiring lifting, pushing, or moving products weighing 40-60 pounds and up to 100 pounds
  • Communicate effectively with customers and dispatch using English language skills
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and reports
