Sysco currently has immediate openings for dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers who can safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload or deliver various food and supply products to customer locations on assigned route schedules. These drivers are essential front-line representatives of the company, as they build positive relationships with each customer through their friendly interactions and thorough knowledge of customers’ operational needs. This role requires not only safe and competent driving skills but also physical endurance to handle freight that may weigh from 40 to 100 pounds repeatedly. Drivers will be expected to meet flexible scheduling demands, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.

Job Requirements

  • 21 plus years of age
  • pass employment testing
  • valid Class A Commercial Driver License with driving record that meets company insurability standards
  • ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand highway traffic signs
  • ability to lift, push, or move freight weighing 40 to 100 pounds repeatedly
  • flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, and complete required reports
  • Experience preferred in customer delivery, hand cart or hand truck operations, and the food and beverage industry
  • Demonstrated consistent work history

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver various products
  • Manually unload and deliver products such as meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through courteous and professional interactions
  • Understand and follow assigned route schedules to ensure timely deliveries
  • Lift, push, or move freight weighing between 40 and 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance
  • Communicate with dispatch and customers to address delivery issues and provide updates
