Job Description
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as safety products and process chemicals. With a vast network across the United States, Airgas is recognized as one of the largest suppliers of these essential products, operating with a commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability. Airgas’s parent company, Air Liquide, operates globally, providing gases and technology services to industries and healthcare in over 60 countries, employing around 66,500 people. This scale and diversity enable Airgas to bring world-class resources and support to its workforce and customers alike.
At Airgas, employees are empowered to contribute their ideas, take initiative, and make impactful decisions within a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. The company actively values diverse perspectives and strives to create a working environment where all employees, customers, and community stakeholders feel respected, honored, and valued. Airgas supports its team not only through competitive salaries but also by offering comprehensive benefits designed to support their whole lives and foster career growth.
Currently, Airgas is seeking a CDL A Hazmat Driver based in Augusta, GA, specifically at the Columbia Nitrogen Drive facility focused on bulk cryo logistics. This position offers an excellent earning potential with the ability to make $90,000 or more annually, coupled with additional financial incentives such as a $2,000 driver referral bonus and quarterly incentive bonuses. The role primarily involves the safe and efficient operation of tractor-trailer combinations to transport compressed, liquefied industrial gases either to customers or to storage sites. Drivers are expected to perform diligent pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle integrity and compliance with safety regulations. Detailed record-keeping and immediate reporting of incidents, citations, or customer service issues are essential responsibilities.
This driving position is structured with a schedule that includes nights and weekends but offers the benefit of being home daily, presenting a desirable work-life balance. Airgas provides a robust benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death & dismemberment, disability insurance, paid parental leave of up to 14 weeks, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, and vacation time. Benefits begin after just 30 days of employment, showing Airgas’s commitment to supporting employees from the very start.
In this role, drivers will represent Airgas’s values and commitment to safety and customer success while contributing to the company’s reputation as a leader in industrial gases and logistics. Candidates will bring in experience, technical knowledge with hazardous materials, and a strong safety mindset, all while working in a company that fosters respect, diversity, and growth. Airgas encourages applicants from all backgrounds and prioritizes inclusivity and equal opportunity in its hiring process. Joining Airgas means joining a company where your contributions matter and your career potential can be fully realized.
