Job Description
Koch Trucking is a family-owned and driver-focused transportation company that has been operating since 1978. Over the decades, it has developed a strong reputation for excellence, safety, and innovation within the trucking and logistics industry. Known for maintaining a healthy business environment, Koch Trucking promotes respect and high standards which allow both employees and customers to thrive. The company offers full-service transportation solutions including Dedicated, Regional, Flatbed, Marine, and Specialized services. This variety allows drivers flexibility while meeting diverse customer shipping needs. Part of Koch Companies, a larger enterprise that includes trucking, warehousing, logistics, and truck/trailer leasing, Koch Trucking benefits from a broad infrastructure and resources. The company has received prestigious recognition such as being named a 2025 Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation by the Women in Trucking Association, and it’s listed among the Top 200 Workplaces by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
In the current opening, Koch Trucking is seeking experienced CDL-A Flatbed Company Drivers to join its flatbed division. This role promises steady miles and consistent routes, providing drivers with familiarity and stability. CDL-A drivers with at least one year of experience hauling flatbed, step deck, or Conestoga trailers are encouraged to apply. The company offers competitive compensation, with an average earnings potential of $85,000 annually and top-performing drivers earning up to $95,000. Starting pay ranges from 61 to 63 cents per mile, depending on experience. Furthermore, a $6,000 hiring bonus is available to new drivers. Drivers can expect to be out on the road for 14 to 21 days based on their location, which balances work and home time effectively. Additional benefits include PTO starting from day one, alongside three floating holidays each year, and a robust benefits package featuring health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. A 401k plan with company match is also provided.
Koch Trucking equips its drivers with late-model equipment—trucks average just 16 months old—and premium Volvo 860 and Freightliner Cascadia models, which include driver-focused features such as refrigerators, leather interiors, double curtain wraps, double bunks, and built-in inverters. The orientation is conducted in luxury hotels with all expenses paid, and the company remunerates drivers weekly. Additional pay incentives cover over-dimensional loads, stop pay, tarp pay, and border crossing bonuses for those opting to drive into Canada. Drivers also benefit from a pet policy, rider policy, a Rolling Strong driver app, and free access to a drivers lounge stocked with essentials including soap, shampoo, towels, and even food items. Free iPads with data packages are provided to ensure drivers stay connected with family during their routes. Koch Trucking’s company culture and comprehensive pay and benefit packages emphasize its commitment to offering the best possible experience for its drivers, making it an excellent choice for seasoned flatbed CDL-A drivers looking for a reputable company to advance their careers.
