TransForce has built a strong network of clients and offers various types of assignments including temporary, temp-to-hire, and permanent positions, allowing drivers flexible employment options tailored to their needs and preferences.

The current available position is for a CDL A Driver based in Cumberland, Rhode Island. This role is classified as a local route position with a temp-to-hire type of assignment, featuring automatic transmission vehicles. The successful candidate will be engaged in heavy-touch freight delivery, specifically handling pet food, supplies, treats, toys, supplements, and other associated goods. The position offers a generous guaranteed weekly pay of $1700, ensuring a reliable income for qualified drivers. The work schedule is predominantly Monday to Friday, though deliveries might occasionally shift to a Tuesday to Saturday schedule. Start times are flexible within the early morning window between 2 AM and 7 AM, and the role may sometimes require one or two layovers per week, with hotels provided for overnight stays but not tractors.

The job requires the driver to operate various equipment including tractor trailers, box trucks, and refrigerated box trucks. Drivers must provide full white glove service which includes liftgate deliveries and pallet breakdown, reflecting a high level of customer service and care in handling freight. Prior to active driving, candidates will undergo comprehensive training comprising 60 hours of online computer instruction along with in-field training to ensure familiarity and proficiency with company standards and safety protocols.

Key responsibilities include timely and safe delivery of products across designated routes, use of electric pallet jacks and hand carts for load handling, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. The role requires the maintenance of a clean motor vehicle record, with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents within the last three years, indicative of a professional and safety-conscious driver.

This position is ideal for experienced CDL A drivers seeking stability, competitive pay, and a supportive employment environment. TransForce emphasizes driver wellbeing and career advancement, offering benefits that include medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan, and a referral program.
