Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a distinguished leader in the convenience retail industry, renowned for its innovative and comprehensive fresh and broad-line solutions. As part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark has established itself as a reliable partner to a vast network of customers across the United States and Canada, generating over $23 billion in revenue through its extensive distribution centers. This growth and success stem from a deep commitment to empowering customers, employees, and communities alike, fostering an environment of opportunity and excellence. Core-Mark’s success is built on its ability to offer a full range of products and tailored programs that address the unique needs of the markets it serves, ensuring efficiency and satisfaction at every level of the supply chain.
The CDL-A Local Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark is a pivotal position within the company’s operations, essential to maintaining the seamless flow of goods that supports the food supply chain. This role is based in West Mifflin, PA, providing drivers with a stable 4-day work week schedule from Monday to Friday, with dispatch times between midnight and 4 a.m. The position offers competitive weekly pay ranging from $1,350 to $1,500, with the opportunity to earn up to $80,000 annually, complemented by a potential $10,000 sign-on bonus for drivers with over one year of CDL-A experience. The delivery routes are local and designed for work-life balance, featuring two overnight stays per week, allowing drivers to return home regularly and maintain personal commitments.
Drivers in this role are entrusted with delivering food products to local customers on scheduled routes safely and timely, reflecting Core-Mark’s dedication to customer service and operational excellence. These professionals act as the face of the company, responsible not only for the physical delivery of products but also for fostering positive customer relationships through professional interaction and reliable service. The position does not require previous commercial driving experience, making it accessible to qualified individuals eager to start a career in trucking.
The driver’s responsibilities include performing thorough safety checks on vehicles and trailers, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies. Drivers must ensure freight is handled carefully, secured properly, and delivered with complete and accurate documentation. Additionally, drivers are expected to perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain clean and safe working environments and comply with all company standards. This role involves the physical demands of unloading and handling freight, often weighing between 10 to 90 pounds, using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates.
Core-Mark offers a supportive work environment with day-one health and wellness benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, a stock purchase plan, paid time off, holidays, education assistance, and career growth opportunities. The company is fully committed to equal employment opportunity, embracing diversity and inclusivity across all levels of its workforce. This role not only offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits but also the chance to grow within a robust organization renowned for its industry leadership and community impact.
