PFG's approach involves a collaborative team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts who work closely with customers to deliver high-quality food products as well as valuable advisory services. These services include guidance on improving business operations, menu development, product selection, and overall operational strategies. As a company, Performance Foodservice is committed not only to delivering delicious and reliable food supplies but also to supporting independent restaurant owners in growing their businesses and achieving their culinary goals. The company culture emphasizes inclusivity, safety, and respect, offering a rewarding work environment with opportunities for professional growth.
The CDL-A Driver role at Performance Foodservice plays a crucial part in the country’s food supply chain. This position is designed for drivers who operate tractor trailers or straight trucks on local, intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes. The driver’s primary responsibility is to ensure that food and food-related products are delivered timely, safely, and in good condition to customers. Beyond the basic transportation duties, CDL-A Drivers serve as the face of the company, fostering positive relationships with customer contacts and coworkers alike. The company offers competitive compensation with earning potential up to $90,000 annually, along with a 4-day work week with start times between 4am and 6am.
This role requires adherence to Department of Transportation regulations and company safety policies while performing key tasks such as pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, secure loading and unloading of merchandise, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and adhering to schedules. Performance Foodservice supports its drivers with comprehensive benefits including day-one health and wellness coverage, 401K employer matching, employee stock purchase plans, education assistance, paid time off, and a positive team-oriented culture that encourages respect and recognition. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in safety compliance, enjoy interacting with customers, and seek a career in the food service logistics industry with significant growth potential.
