As a Class A CDL Company Driver at Trulite, you will be responsible for safely driving trucks to various destinations while ensuring the secure loading and unloading of cargo. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections with diligence, checking critical components such as tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels, all while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires physical stamina, as employees must be able to handle a physically demanding environment involving bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, lifting weights up to 75 pounds, and extensive walking in varying weather conditions throughout the year. Prospective employees should have a current and active Class A driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be capable of passing the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) physical and drug tests. Job Duties
- Drives truck to destination
- distributes receipts for load picked up
- occasionally collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges
- maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
- maintains telephone and/or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions
- loads and unloads truck as needed
- inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
- positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit
