Performance Food Group (PFG) is a leading broadline foodservice distributor dedicated to serving a diverse range of local customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company is committed to building long-lasting customer relationships through its team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other experts who provide valuable advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. PFG not only delivers quality food products but also supports independent restaurant owners and businesses by helping them achieve their goals and elevate their service offerings. Their strong customer focus coupled with extensive industry knowledge has made them a trusted partner in Americas food distribution system.

The company fosters a safe and inclusive working environment rich with rewards, recognition, and respect for its employees. Their benefits package is competitive and designed to promote both physical and financial wellness from day one. Employees enjoy health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and numerous other incentives. There is a clear emphasis on growth opportunities for hardworking individuals who play an essential role in supporting and maintaining Americas food supply chain.

The CDL-A Delivery Driver role at Performance Food Group is a critical position responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food and food-related products to a variety of customers. This role involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate, interstate, over-the-road, shuttle, and drive-and-drop routes. The driver not only ensures that orders arrive in excellent condition but also serves as the face of the company, building and maintaining professional relationships with customers. Delivering exceptional service and safety compliance is at the core of the position.

Drivers must conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their vehicles in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. Responsibilities include properly securing freight, accurately completing paperwork such as delivery logs and freight manifests, unloading and delivering products to designated storage areas, and handling customer returns or damaged goods as needed. Drivers are expected to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers and work cooperatively within their department and the broader organization.

Additional duties encompass maintaining the cleanliness and security of the truck and trailer, reporting safety issues or hazards immediately, and complying with all legal and company driving policies. Drivers keep detailed records of hours of service and ensure that equipment is secured at the end of each shift. The position requires physical activity such as hand-lifting and using equipment like two-wheelers or lift gates to move product cases, which can vary widely in weight.

The work schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, with daily home time. The annual pay ranges from $65,000 to $70,000 on average, reflecting the vital role drivers play in PFGs operations. Through this role, employees can expect both a rewarding career path and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to America's food supply.
