The CDL-A Delivery Driver role at McLane is an essential position designed for experienced commercial drivers who possess a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service. Drivers are responsible for conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintaining accurate documentation such as driver logs, delivery receipts, and temperature records. In addition to maneuvering vehicles skillfully both on highways and on customer premises, CDL-A drivers are expected to adhere strictly to safety standards while upholding McLane's reputation for excellence. Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
  • At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
  • Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely

Job Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
  • At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
  • Must meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely

Job Duties

  • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition
  • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery
  • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises
  • Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions
  • Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises
  • Other duties as assigned
