Job Description

McLane is a leader in the distribution industry with a rich history that dates back over 130 years, since its founding in 1894. As a company, McLane specializes in serving clients across various sectors including restaurant, retail, and e-commerce, building a vast nationwide network of team members dedicated to keeping America supplied with its favorite brands. Known for its agility and forward-thinking approach, McLane continuously embraces new technology and invests heavily in team member training to maintain its industry-leading position. The company’s enduring success is rooted in a people-centered culture that values safety, reliability, and dedication, which has allowed it to build strong, secure client relationships and foster long-term careers for its drivers.

The CDL-A Delivery Driver role at McLane is a critical position that involves more than just driving. As a CDL-A driver, you will be responsible for inspecting tractor-trailers before and after trips, ensuring the accuracy of delivery documentation, and safely transporting goods to designated destinations. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial driving regulations and proficiency in maneuvering large vehicles both on the road and within customer premises. Drivers must maintain detailed logs of their trips, including delivery receipts and any exceptions related to product temperatures or other delivery specifics. Your role will also include unloading trailers and ensuring that products are delivered efficiently and courteously to customers. This position is not only about transportation but also about ensuring that McLane’s reputation for reliability and safety is upheld at every stage of the delivery process.

McLane offers its CDL-A drivers an attractive pay range from $75,000 up to $115,000 annually, reflecting the valuable contribution drivers make to the company's ongoing success. Furthermore, driver benefits begin from day one and include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA), along with company-paid life insurance. Additional perks include paid holidays, vacation time, and sick leave accrual starting immediately upon employment. After 90 days, drivers become eligible for the company’s 401(k) profit-sharing plan. McLane also provides its employees with pet insurance, maternity and paternity leave, employee assistance programs, tuition reimbursement, and various discount programs.

The company prioritizes safety, reliability, adaptability, and dedication in its drivers. To qualify, candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A), and have a minimum of one year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience. Applicants must meet McLane's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and risk rating qualifications and demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English to understand and carry out job-related safety protocols and communications.

McLane is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity, providing fair consideration to all applicants regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Candidates may be subject to background checks and drug screenings in accordance with applicable laws. If you are a safety-focused, reliable, adaptable, and dedicated professional looking to advance your CDL-A driving career in a company that values its people and their contributions, McLane offers a supportive and rewarding environment to achieve your goals and move America forward together.
