The position of CDL A Delivery Truck Driver at Sysco offers a competitive salary with earning potential up to $110,000 per year, including incentive pay. Drivers typically work a four-day work week with a set schedule from Monday through Saturday, where Saturday serves as a return day. All routes require one overnight stay per week, and Sysco covers the expenses and hotel stays. Job Requirements
- Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- must be physically able to handle freight weighing 40 to 60 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds
- flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- availability for a set schedule Monday through Saturday
- ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle
- adherence to company safety and operational policies
Job Qualifications
- 21 plus years of age
- valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- ability to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public and understand highway signs
- customer delivery experience preferred
- hand cart/hand truck experience preferred
- food and beverage industry experience preferred
- consistent work history recommended
Job Duties
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver various food products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule
- manually load and unload products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
- establish and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing excellent service and addressing needs
- adhere to safety regulations and company policies while driving and during deliveries
- perform overnight stays as required, managing expenses and accommodations
- maintain accurate delivery records and reports
- participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills
