Job Description

McLane Company is a leading supply chain services company that has been driving industry success for over 130 years. Established in 1894, McLane has built a vast nationwide distribution network that serves some of America’s favorite brands across the restaurant, retail, and e-commerce industries. Known for its agility and commitment to innovation, McLane continually embraces new technology and prioritizes the training and development of its team members. The company fosters a people-centered culture that values safety, reliability, adaptability, and dedication, helping it maintain its position as an industry leader and a trusted partner in supply chain solutions. Their longevity and continued growth are testaments to their strong client relationships and foundational commitment to safety and employee well-being.

McLane is currently seeking qualified CDL-A Delivery Drivers to join its dedicated team. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely, safe, and efficient delivery of goods using tractor-trailers. Drivers will be responsible for delivering products primarily within the foodservice industry, using touch freight delivery methods with hand dollies. McLane offers drivers industry-leading pay, with salaries between $65,000 and $70,000 annually, as well as robust benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave, and a 401(k) profit-sharing plan after 90 days. New CDL-A drivers start on the extra board and have the opportunity to bid on regular routes starting at six months. These routes typically operate between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM dispatch times and last 12 to 14 hours, five days a week, allowing drivers to get home more often compared to many trucking jobs.

The CDL-A Delivery Driver role at McLane demands a high level of responsibility and dedication. Drivers must be safety-focused and reliable, inspecting their tractor-trailer units before and after trips and maintaining accurate documentation, including driver logs and delivery receipts, in compliance with DOT regulations. Candidates must possess at least one year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience, hold a valid CDL-A license, be at least 21 years old, and meet company standards for driving records and risk ratings. The ability to read, write, and understand English well enough to follow job instructions and safety protocols is essential for success in this role. Drivers will perform tasks such as unloading trailers, conducting deliveries at customer premises, and ensuring the accuracy of shipping documents during off-hour deliveries.

At McLane, drivers are more than just couriers; they are valued team members who contribute significantly to moving America forward by keeping supply chains operational and dependable. The company emphasizes a safe working environment, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits, making it an attractive career option for experienced CDL-A drivers who are ready to advance their careers while enjoying a supportive company culture and work-life balance. McLane also promotes equal employment opportunities and diversity, welcoming all qualified applicants regardless of age, race, gender, or veteran status. Candidates should be aware that background checks and drug screens may be required as part of the hiring process.
